Kearney, Nebraska · Chasing since 1990

36 years in the storm

I'm Nathan Moore. I chase supercells across the Great Plains and stream every mile live, from the first towers going up to the last flash of lightning.

Chase log

Since 1990

36years chasing Plains storms
397tornadoes witnessed
18tornadoes in one day: May 9, 2015, Colorado to Nebraska
140 mphgusts inside Hurricane Harvey's eyewall, 2017
230kmiles driven chasing since June 2022

It started in 1990 with the Plainfield, Illinois tornado. I've been chasing ever since, and these days I bring everyone along live.

I'm based in Kearney, right in the middle of Nebraska, so the whole Plains is a day's drive. What keeps me going is the people watching. And the goal has always been the same: get eyes on the storm so warnings reach people faster. A few extra minutes can save lives.
